Noah Howard was a pioneer of free jazz and a friend who I met and played with in the early seventies. This recording from 1972 wasn't available to me for nearly forty years but was re-released as a CD in 2004. Last week I downloaded last two more recordings from that same night at the Village Vanguard  which Noah may have played on European radio and found their way to a German blog.Frank and Rashid split the scene and last month,September 4th,2010,Noah also died. I think that Juma ,another guy I met through Jimi Hendrix ,is still alive . I am not too sure about Earl.

I edited several of the cuts ,taking off the spoken  introduction , shortening some of the downloaded MP3s,and attempting to give some higher frequency regeneration to the entire product that I fit into a 77:17 minute long CD.We played the Vanguard for about two months of Sundays before the recording . Noah moved to Belguim and occasionally returned to the States for short appearances . He will be missed by us all.

This link to    "Live at the Village Vanguard 1972"   will open another page where you can hear the naked recording including thecuts rejected from the release. It will open another page and clicking any song will open a little portable player.
